It’s Time To Stop Worrying About Cellulite

4 agosto, 2019 by Admin

Turn around, stick it out, baby got back… and cellulite. Just the thought of cellulite makes many women panic, but it’s time to settle this once and for all. If anyone has made you feel ashamed because of the «orange peel», you can work your deserved «Hot Girl Summer» and sashay away, or educate them with the facts. Better yet, do both!

The NATURAL Truth About Cellulite

During the sweltering days of summer, the thought of putting on a swimsuit can be daunting, especially if you’re nervous or worried about what others might be thinking about your backside. There are definitely measures that can help to reduce the appearance of cellulite, but the fact of the matter is, it is 100% NATURAL! With Photoshop and Facetune making women in our Instagram feeds and on the magazine stands looking absolutely flawless, it can make us feel like we are the problem. Truth is, 80-98% of the female population has cellulite. So why do we waste so much time and energy fretting over it?

Unjustified Insecurities

For many women, there is the fear of judgement by their peers, or that men won’t be attracted to them for not having a perfectly smooth rear. However, if you just ask your male friends like this woman did, you might be pleasantly surprised to learn guys couldn’t care less about cellulite. (Unless he’s a serious jerk, in which you’re most definitely better off without him.)

What Exactly Is Cellulite?

So what exactly is cellulite? This skin dimpling is formed by fat deposits that press through connective collagen fibers beneath the skin. And size has zero to do with it. Women of all sizes can get cellulite, because it is largely controlled by hereditary and hormonal factors.

Cellulite appears primarily on the areas of the body with least circulation, which is why we often see it on the back part of our legs. If you are concerned about the appearance, doing strength training exercises such as lunges and squats can help to reduce the dimpling. Your blood circulation will increase from the exercise, and the muscle toning will help to fill out the areas. Regardless, it’s most important to feel comfortable with who you are this summer (and always)!

29 julio, 2019 by Admin

While the majority of us don’t grace the red carpet on the regular, that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy primping to feel like a star. Whether you have a big event or simply a date night with your boo, it’s nice to get dressed up. Given the amount of premieres and award shows celebrities attend, we can sure learn a thing or two from their fashion hacks.

Finally Strut Pain-Free

Many celebrities such as Melissa McCarthy and Laura Harrier swear by using CBD oil on their feet to relieve pain from uncomfortable (yet stylish) shoes. Walking around all night on high heels can really do a number on your heels and toes, and this oil helps to numb any potential pain. Dab some on a few minutes before putting on your shoes, and you’re sure to feel some long-lasting relief through the night.

Those embarrassing white streaks left behind on your clothing from deodorant are dreadful at any occasion that involves being seen in public. That said, there is thankfully a celeb-approved solution- deodorant sponges. Yup, they exist and remove any residue from your clothing with a quick swipe. Their small portable size puts them in our beloved category of fashion hacks on the go!

Soap Up Your Zippers

bar soap- one of the fashion hacks for zippers.

We all have had that perfect dress selected to wear out, only to find the zipper won’t budge, no matter how hard you tug it. Rather than yank on the zipper until it inevitably breaks, try rubbing some bar soap on the area. The soft substance helps to create a lubricant that helps to make the zipper move more smoothly so it doesn’t snag.

Buff Your Shoes To Prevent Spills

We are all about fashion hacks that can prevent from unwanted public blunders. For anyone that has slipped and fallen while walking on uncertain surfaces, rubbing sandpaper on the soles of your shoes is a lifesaver. Even male celebrities like John Cena have used this trick to stay on his feet on the red carpet.

How To Protect And Care For Your Tattoo This Summer

28 julio, 2019 by Admin

Regardless of the season, it is important to care for your skin both for cosmetic and health reasons. That said, during the sunny and sweltering months of summer, it’s extra necessary to take proper precautions to prevent any damage caused by the sun. This rings especially true for tattoos, both new and old. Without the proper care, your tattoo can fade, change color, or even cause unwanted scarring.

In order to make sure your beloved ink stays looking good as new, we have the following tips for protecting your tattoo this summer. After spending all that money to get inked in the first place, you might as well take the measures to get your money’s worth!

Enhance Recovery With Tattoo Balms

Typically a tattoo takes 2-3 weeks to fully heal. During that time, it is crucial to keep the tattoo moisturized and given the proper conditioning with balms that contain allantoin. This ingredient helps the area to heal faster, and other natural moisturizing ingredients like coconut oil help to prevent dryness.

Slather On Mineral SPF

The biggest culprit for tattoo discoloration and fading is the sun, particularly if it’s a fresh tattoo. Any bright colors used for an ink that is still healing are very susceptible to changing colors. Even black ink can start to turn an ugly greenish hue. The best way to prevent this change is by wearing a mineral based sunscreen every day. It may seem like a hassle, but the results are worth it!

Cover Large Tattoos With Sun Guard

You might think wearing clothing to prevent any tattoo exposure is sufficient, but in reality our clothing doesn’t act as a perfect barrier from the sun. To make sure your tattoo is fully protected, try washing your clothing with Sun Guard, which adds SPF protection to your clothing through the wash.

Avoid UV Light

The sun’s rays aren’t the only source for causing skin damage. UV light, often at nail salons or tanning beds, directly puts your tattoo in harms way in causing color change and fading. Not only that, but direct exposure to UV light also increases your risk of skin cancer.

Why baby powder is going to be your new best friend

24 julio, 2019 by Admin

Most of us have baby powder on our cupboards, barely anyone knows about its amazing uses. It’s good for so many things besides soothing baby skin. There are some great beauty hacks we are going to be sharing with you!

Baby powder

No more expensive products

Talcum power is the best because it’s super cheap and you can literally buy it anywhere. It’s also multipurpose! It is a great replacement for more expensive products you might like to use.

The fake lash effect

This magic powder can make your lashes double their length. You will have longer and thicker lashes with absolutely no effort at all. How? Apply some powder on your naked lash with a fine makeup brush, and make sure your lashes are fully covered. Then, apply your mascara like you usually would. You’ll see how you immediately get thicker, longer lashes!

Fake lashes

Plus, a good tip to get better results is to start by applying a thin layer of mascara, after which you then apply the powder. This helps the talcum powder stick to your lashes, meaning they will look even longer. But be careful! Don’t apply too much mascara: it’s only supposed to act like glue.

As dry shampoo

Greasy hair is a very common problem, especially amongst women. A great product was created some time ago to give your hair a little boost and make it look a little cleaner. Our beloved dry shampoo. Dry shampoo gets rid of excess grease and provides your hair with volume. It’s a win-win.

Dry shampoo

Well, turns out talcum powder has the exact same effects. However, the product itself lasts for much longer than a bottle of dry shampoo. And it’s cheaper. Admit it, you just found your new best friend for the no-hair-washing days.

Anti-bad smells

We all hate the smell that comes from our shoes after a long day of walking around sweating like a pig. It happens to the best of us, especially now that it’s summer. Fortunately, talcum powder is amazing when it comes to eliminating bad smells.

Bad smells shoes

Simply apply some of the powder to the inside of your shoes and you’ll be done. Super easy! You’ll be able to prevent unwanted smells and stinky sweating. Take off your shoes without feeling embarrassed!

Your Shower Routine Is All Wrong (And How To Fix It)

22 julio, 2019 by Admin

Considering the thousands of showers we have all taken in our life-time, most of us would probably say we are pretty well trained when it comes to our cleaning habits. Which is why the news that there is actually a wrong way to shower might be a BIG shock for you. Chances are- you’re probably committing some of these bathing blunders!

Long Hot Showers Damage Your Skin

woman making heart in the shower door.

You might feel like a new, relaxed version of yourself after taking a long hot shower. However your skin is screaming at the amount of damage this causes. Hot showers for longer than 5-10 minutes dry out your skin and strips it of all its natural oils, leaving your skin weathered and likely to age more easily. Keep it short and sweet, or lower that dial!

Always Shampoo First, Body Second

Yup, there IS a proper order when it comes to sudsing up. Shampoos often have more chemicals and harsher ingredients than body washes, so lathering up with body wash after rinsing out shampoo ensures you wash all way all residue. For the days you shave, it’s best to save this step for last too, as the moisture and heat helps your pores to open up and facilitate a closer shave.

Lose The Loofah

Loofahs seem like a great shower aid for exfoliating, but these scrubbers are rough on the skin. What’s more, Loofahs are also hard to clean, and when left out end up becoming cesspools for bacteria- gross! A cleaner, safer alternative is a washing flannel cloth. The material is both softer on the skin, and super simple to to wash.

Skip Washing Your Face In The Shower

When we’re in the shower, it seems only natural that we wash our face along with the rest of our body. However, the temperatures of the water are often too hot for the delicate skin that’s on the face, leaving it even more susceptible to damage and stripping of essential oils. Rather, you should wash your face in the sink with cooler water or micellar water. If the extra time is too much of a nuisance to wash your face separately, just make sure you don’t put your face directly to the stream of the shower head, as the pressure does extra damage to this skin.

Reasons Why Your Lips Need TLC Too

21 julio, 2019 by Admin

The majority of us have purchased moisturizing lip balm, only to lose the tube less than a week later. This endless cycle can be means for just giving up completely and losing all hope in having moisturized lips. However, the benefits of hydrating your pucker are more than just for appearance! These advantages will make you rethink your lip balm problem (and maybe think new strategies for never losing the darn thing)!

Provides SPF Protection

Many lip balms nowadays have SPF protection, which is crucial especially during these hot summer months. Even if we slather on sunscreen every wear else on our bodies, our lips are still susceptible to sun damage too. Without it, your mouth is likely to get chapped or worse- those awful painful cracks. With some SPF moisturizer, your lips are sure to maintain their youth as well.

Makes You Look Healthier

Woman on a bicycle with pink lips.

Often times if we have had a rough week or are not getting enough water, our face can start to look pale and worn out. The same goes for our lips, which can make your whole look drab. With the help of tinted lip balm, you can get a natural healthy glow by adding some pink hues. The best part is that this look is natural yet lively enough to add to either your daily routine, or at night when you’re feeling the exhaustion hit.

Smooths Out Lines For Lipstick

Long lasting lipsticks and lip mattes can be either a godsend or an absolute nightmare, depending on the state of your lips when applying. A dried out and flaky pout will only get worse when applying a lip matte (and start peeling mid day, yikes!). To prevent this embarrassing scenario, lip balms help to lock in the moisture and reduce the lines and cracks between lips. This way, your lipstick glides on smoothly, and stays that way throughout the day. Exfoliating your pucker before applying a balm helps to ensure no dead skin cells and a perfect pout!
