Fans were absolutely heartbroken when Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth both came forward to announce their break up. The couple had been on again off again for the last decade, deciding to officially seal their relationship with a wedding last December. Nevertheless the newlyweds’ vows did not last long, as they confirmed on August 10 that they had decided to call it quits. The public response however has been downright shocking, leading Miley Cyrus to upload posts on social media in her defense.
Cheating Accusations Arise
The reason Miley felt the need to defend herself in the first place had to do with a recent trip she took to Italy with friend, Kaitlynn Carter. Both celebrities had just broken up with their significant others when photos of them surfaced of them kissing. This in turn caused Hemsworth fans to accuse the «Party In The USA» star of cheating on her husband. Miley, naturally angered, then took to Twitter to clear the air and her name.
Miley Tells All
On both Twitter and Instagram, Miley wrote several paragraphs in response to the lie. She begins with, «I can accept that the life I’ve chosen means I must live completely open and transparent with my fans who I love, and the public, 100% of the time.» This is in reference to her decision to be a pop star in the first place, and to continue making music and acting post Disney days. She then goes on to address the cheating rumors.

Miley Admits To Mistakes
Miley continued her thread on both social media sites to admit she has not been a perfect example. She confessed to different aspects of her life on and off the red carpet that have been criticized, such as her excessive partying, drugs, and nudity.
Despite this shaky past, Miley made it clear that when it came to her relationship with Liam, she was more than committed. Not only that, but she has grown too.

With any breakup, one hopes to learn and grow from their experiences and former relationship. This is clearly evident in Miley’s case, and she promises that she still loves, and always will love Liam.
A Happy Ending
While fans might be upset that the decade-long duo are no longer together, they can at least be content knowing that both celebrities are going their own paths and trying to do what is best for them. While Hemsworth has decided to be relatively quiet on the topic, Cyrus recently released this new song, Slide Away, based on the relationship and breakup. Her fans can rest easy knowing Miley stated, «I am the healthiest and happiest I have been in a long time.»
