Reasons You Might Be Randomly Crying

4 septiembre, 2019 by Admin

Did you ever start to feel teary-eyed for no good reason? It can be extremely frustrating to not know the specific cause behind your sudden onset crying. While most of us just blame it on PMS and call it a day, it’s more effective to try to dig deep and really think about what is causing your bewildering bout of tears. This guide can help you decode the waterworks (and attempt to reduce them) once and for all!

Yup, Crying Can Be From PMS

Blaming our random crying on our menstruation is common, and also very justifiable. This is due to the fact that estrogen and progesterone levels are on a roller coaster the week leading up to your period, which can directly impact your mood. For women that are already feeling more anxious or stressed than normal, this chemical influx can magnify your pent up emotions and leave you bawling. On the bright side, at least you have a very good, scientifically proven reason for your crying! On the bad side… you most likely just have to wait it out until your flow begins. You can also try some calming activities like yoga and meditation to reduce stress during this time.

You Are Ultra Anxious

If you constantly feel semi (or very) panicked to the point it limits your daily activities, you might have an anxiety disorder. While the word «disorder» makes it sound like something is seriously wrong with you, the reality is that anxiety disorders are very common among adults. In fact, almost 20% of the American population suffers from some type of anxiety disorder. The intense emotions felt by those with anxiety can cause them to burst into tears even when they don’t feel panicked. If you feel like this might be your case, it is best to talk with your doctor to take some tests for them to find the solution best for you.

You Aren’t Dealing Well With Stress

All of us have some things in our lives that make us stressed. However, if you don’t find a way to handle and deal with the problems head-on, they can easily and quickly build up. The result? Sudden crying at any and all hours of the day. Stress is not only bad for causing puffy eyes– it also can cause health problems if not dealt with long-term, like intestinal and heart issues. This is why it’s more important than ever to find the culprit for your crying!

Beauty Tips For Busy Women On The Run

1 septiembre, 2019 by Admin

Do you find your busy work life has had a serious impact on your appearance? Some people look fresh and glowing without any makeup, (and girrrrl do we envy you)! For the rest of us who are working late hours and running on little sleep, we don’t always wake up looking our best. On top of this, when we are rushing to work, setting aside time to put on makeup is the last thing on our mind. However, if you feel more confident on days you enter work with some basic makeup on, you shouldn’t have to compromise! These beauty tips are perfect for any busy woman on the run!

Quickly Conceal In Under 3 Minutes

The part of our face that conveys exhaustion the most is the bags under our eyes. The best way to hide this darkness, plus any blemishes you may have, is to use some concealer in the morning. This process does not take long either! Rinse your face with cool water in the morning to clean and reduce puffiness. After, apply some moisturizer then lightly dab some concealer under your eyes and any problem spots.

Brighten Your Eyes

If you only have a few minutes before you need to run, it’s recommended you focus on styling your eyes. Why? They say that the eyes are the window to the soul... and can truly change your whole appearance. Adding a few strokes of eyeshadow and some mascara can instantly make your eyes pop and look brighter.

Never Too Busy For Brows

Having styled eyebrows is directly assists in creating brighter, fresher looking eyes on your busy days. (Plus, these pictures of celebrities without eye brows confirms the importance of this facial feature!) If you are meeting with clients or your boss, lots of eye contact will be involved, and looking your best is key. By packing a pair of tweezers in your purse, you can easily pluck any stray hairs during a break at the office. Instantly polished!

Are Jade Rollers Beneficial For Your Skin?

28 agosto, 2019 by Admin

Jade rollers are an increasingly popular tool in skincare. Some people swear by the benefits of using the smooth green jade on their face, and others claim it to be a big waste of money. Before you decide to purchase or forego adding this tool to your beauty routine, we have all the details.

Can Jade Rollers Cure Your Acne?

Hate to break it, but jade rollers are not the magical cure for acne. Many brands sell this tool as helping to reduce breakouts, but the reality is this product does nothing for zits. A better treatment for breakouts would be using a salicylic acid face wash or spot treatment once a day.

What Skin Benefit Do Jade Rollers Provide?

While they can’t banish your breakouts and wrinkles, jade rollers can help with reducing your puffiness. The rolling motions on your face helps to increase lymphatic drainage, meaning your face will appear leaner and less tired from just waking up. It is also best to use the roller after you have already applied moisturizer or toner on your face, to feel more relaxed and smooth the product evenly into your skin. As of now there is no data to backup if the roller helps for facial products to penetrate better, but this is also a potential bonus from using the stones on your skin.

How To Use A Jade Roller

As intuitive as it may seem, there is a wrong and right way to using a jade roller. This beauty routine was part of ancient Chinese rituals to create movement underneath the skin’s surface. But rather than smoothing it all over your face in haphazard strokes like you would with painting a wall, you should roll in specific directions.

It is best to start with rolling in downward motions around the neck area to open circulation to your face. Then roll the stone on your cheeks in an outward motion before hitting your forehead in a downward then horizontal direction. This should help to get the best results if used daily!

It’s Time To Amp Up Pink In Your Style (Again)

26 agosto, 2019 by Admin

Pink has been a popular color for… centuries. Yet it seems to be having another recent comeback. Just take one look at the runways or even your local makeup store. Pink is everywhere again, but it’s not the hue that is calling our attention. It’s how it is being worn with all new twists.

No more do we just stick to a soft pink lip color! Now there are long-lasting lip stains, eye shadow hues, blushes, and accessories to complete your look for any occasion.

Why Do We Love Pink?

This color is great to add back into your style routine for several reasons. The primary is that it is truly a universal color. While certain reds and oranges can have a harsh effect on different skin tones, pinks have enough color that is not too shocking to compliment any skin tone or hair combination.

Not only can it blend well, but pink can be statement making too. Just look to Megan Rapinoe, the forward from the US Women’s National Soccer Team who made headlines this past World Cup for her athletic prowess, political stances, and yes, her hair! Her look became so iconic, that it actually inspired stylists Riawna Capri and Joey Perrotti to name a new hue after her: Rapinkoe.

Awesome Products

While many of us can’t afford to splurge on the same products used and worn on the runway, thankfully many bargain brands have also joined in on the pink movement. You can get perfectly pink pouts with ink crayon lipsticks or achieve a nice iridescent glow with these tinted highlighters. Whatever your style choice, you’re sure to make Elle Woods proud!

These Common Mistakes Are Harming Your Vision

23 agosto, 2019 by Admin

Most of us our guilty of leaving home on a sunny day without putting on a pair of sunglasses first. However, this is just one of many common mistakes people make that can cause lifelong damage to our vision and eyes. And when it comes to eye health, prevention is key! Regardless of whether you already wear glasses and contacts, or you have 20/20 vision, these simple habits are important to kick to keep your eyes healthy!

Skipping Sunglasses

Most people wear sunglasses regularly during the summer time, but not wearing them in winter when sun rays can reflect off the snow also does damage. Any time we don’t wear sunglasses with UV protection, the light enters our eyes and can cause melanoma and cataracts on our eye. Meaning, our vision and health can worsen if we don’t wear shades year round! Even if you feel silly wearing sunglasses on a cloudy day, you can walk proudly knowing you are making a health conscious decision!

Showering With Contact Lenses In

Water that comes from a shower head can contain a type of amoeba called acanthamoeba. If it gets on your contact lenses and stays there after you’ve finished showering, it has the potential to stay on your eye and feed on your cornea. Disgusting, we know. What’s more, this infection can lead to lifelong blindness if not taken care of. This is why it is vital to not shower with lenses in, and to also have proper eye contact solution as well. Otherwise, rinsing lenses with tap water can just as easily cause damage.

Using Anti-Redness Eye Drops

There is no harm to using anti-redness eye drops every once in a while due to allergies. However, if you start to use these drops habitually, your eyes can actually become addicted to the drops. Your eyes as a result will require more drops to have any effect. Although the drops themselves are not harmful to your vision, using the solution as a remedy could be masking the real source of the problem, like a possible infection. If your eyes seem to be abnormally red for more than two days, you should probably call the doctor to schedule an appointment to ensure your vision and eyes are okay.

How To Correctly Apply Dry Shampoo

21 agosto, 2019 by Admin

If you haven’t already hopped aboard the dry shampoo train, what are you waiting for?! Dry shampoo is the miracle product for anyone trying to save time and simplify their beauty routine. With proper usage, this product can enable you to skip washing your hair in the shower for up to five days! Even if you already use dry shampoo, you might not be using the product to its full potential. Or worse- you might not even be using the right kind! We have all the bases covered to ensure you save time and still maintain those beautiful locks.

Step One: Buying The Right Dry Shampoo

First and foremost, not all dry shampoos are created equal. A product that might work well on your friend’s hair that she swears by, might not necessarily be good for your hair. Why? As it turns out, the texture and color of our hair greatly determines what dry shampoo we should be using. People with fine hair would do well with purchasing a volumizing version, whereas people with dark hair should use colored versions. Otherwise, you risk having unsightly white powdery patches in your hair! This video by Refinery29 goes through some of the best drug store finds.

Step Two: Application Is Important

This miracle beauty product should not be sprayed all over your head. It’s best to spray just at the roots, where the oil is most likely to build up over the days. When doing so, make sure to brush through the spots sprayed to create some volume in your hair at the crown and scalp.

Powder versions of dry shampoo are also great, especially if you are traveling and don’t want your aerosol cans to be thrown out going through security. However, in order to ensure you don’t have white patches, it is best to purchase a fluffy makeup brush to accompany your powder dry shampoo. This way you can dab on the powder more easily.

Step 3: Optimal Time Of Application

Most people apply dry shampoo in the morning when they are prepping for the day. However, a trick that will also save you time in the morning is applying it at night. By spraying on the product at your roots before going to bed, you will ensure it is all absorbed by the next day. Your «just rolled out of bed» hair never looked so good!

Step 4: Dry Shampoo Habits To Kick

The most important thing to remember when applying dry shampoo is to never touch your hair afterwards. Although it’s tempting, this just undos the product’s process of absorbing oil. All the oils naturally on our fingers will wind up back in our hair and make it looking even greasier. You should also never apply this product to wet hair, or overuse it in winter. Otherwise, your scalp will actually start to dry out and cause dandruff. Hate to be the one to tell you, but those aren’t snowflakes in your hair!

Follow this simple 4 step guide and you are sure to have your best looking (and feeling) locks!
