The Ultimate Guide To Properly Applying Concealer

20 septiembre, 2019 by Admin

Newsflash: concealers are not just for your acne and under-eye bags! This simple saving makeup product has many great tricks for making you look your best and brightest. It all just depends on how you actually apply the product. Here are a few tricks to make the most out of your concealer!

Are you applying your concealer directly under your eyes? If so, you are actually committing one of the worst mistakes! This way of application can actually accentuate the bags under your eyes. To fix this issue, try applying your concealer in the shape of an upside down triangle. This will help to brighten up not just your under-eye bags, but your entire face!

Prime Your Eyelids With Concealer

No need to spend extra moolah on eyeshadow primer. You can apply concealer directly to your eyelids to create the same smoothing effect. This will help to prevent creases when putting on eyeshadow and additionally make the colors pop.

Make Corrections With Different Colored Concealers

One concealer color doesn’t solve all your problems (sadly). To get the absolute best results, you should use different colors based on the problems you want to, well.. conceal. If it’s acne you want to hide, go for green to neutralize the redness and then top with your foundation. If you have dark, blue-ish under-eye bags, you should aim for a concealer with peachy orange tones. Additionally, if your face has more yellow tones you want to correct, you can use lavender colored concealers underneath foundation. Who knew there was a rainbow of colors to choose from for your concealer?

Blot With Tissue To Combat Creasing

To ensure your concealer doesn’t crease (especially around the eyes), it is best to blot with a tissue after application. This way you won’t look like a cakey mess by midday. Only a flawless face for you!

These Common Mistakes Are Harming Your Vision

23 agosto, 2019 by Admin

Most of us our guilty of leaving home on a sunny day without putting on a pair of sunglasses first. However, this is just one of many common mistakes people make that can cause lifelong damage to our vision and eyes. And when it comes to eye health, prevention is key! Regardless of whether you already wear glasses and contacts, or you have 20/20 vision, these simple habits are important to kick to keep your eyes healthy!

Skipping Sunglasses

Most people wear sunglasses regularly during the summer time, but not wearing them in winter when sun rays can reflect off the snow also does damage. Any time we don’t wear sunglasses with UV protection, the light enters our eyes and can cause melanoma and cataracts on our eye. Meaning, our vision and health can worsen if we don’t wear shades year round! Even if you feel silly wearing sunglasses on a cloudy day, you can walk proudly knowing you are making a health conscious decision!

Showering With Contact Lenses In

Water that comes from a shower head can contain a type of amoeba called acanthamoeba. If it gets on your contact lenses and stays there after you’ve finished showering, it has the potential to stay on your eye and feed on your cornea. Disgusting, we know. What’s more, this infection can lead to lifelong blindness if not taken care of. This is why it is vital to not shower with lenses in, and to also have proper eye contact solution as well. Otherwise, rinsing lenses with tap water can just as easily cause damage.

Using Anti-Redness Eye Drops

There is no harm to using anti-redness eye drops every once in a while due to allergies. However, if you start to use these drops habitually, your eyes can actually become addicted to the drops. Your eyes as a result will require more drops to have any effect. Although the drops themselves are not harmful to your vision, using the solution as a remedy could be masking the real source of the problem, like a possible infection. If your eyes seem to be abnormally red for more than two days, you should probably call the doctor to schedule an appointment to ensure your vision and eyes are okay.

Apply Eyeshadow Flawlessly On Aging Eyes

12 agosto, 2019 by Admin

As we get older, our skin starts to change and that includes the skin around our eyes. In addition to using anti-aging cream to help reduce wrinkles, there are other tricks that help to reduce the appearance of age when applying eye makeup. Crow’s feet and creases are no match for these eyeshadow tips!

Hydration And Moisturizer Are Key

A good makeup application begins with having healthy, smooth skin. Having hydrated skin ensures that eyeshadow can glide on smoothly, which is important to consider with skin being more prone to drying as we age. To properly moisturize the area around your eyes, you should use a hyaluronic eye cream. It is best to apply this cream on your eyelids and under your eye prior to using eyeshadow and makeup. These creams tend to be lighter and absorb easily, making them perfect for daytime use.

Prime To Make Eyeshadow Stay Put

Professionals swear by priming before putting on eyeshadow for its incredible staying power. A good primer can be used for people of all ages to ensure powders don’t get caught in the crease, causing unattractive streaks of makeup on our eyelids. Using a primer is even more important as we get older, for our eyes typically start to become more hooded, making them more prone to creasing.

Ditch The Glitter And Powder Eyeshadow Formulas

As our skin care routine changes as we get older, so should the types of eyeshadow we use. Overall matte eye shadow is better than shadows with lots of shine and glitter, for these formulas often settle into creases. Powders can also stick to our fine lines, so a cream shadow is the ultimate solution.

As for the best colors to use, nudes and taupes help with making eyes look bigger and brighter. However, you should ultimately wear the eyeshadow color that makes you feel your best!

Eliminate Under Eye Circles (For Good)

7 julio, 2019 by Admin

After a long work week, the last thing you want to hear when going out with your friends is «wow, you look so tired.» Sometimes even with 8 hours of sleep in our system, we still manage to look like we pulled two all-nighters in a row, thanks to those dreaded dark under eye circles. While rest is a crucial part of reducing the appearance of bags, there are many other ways you can avoid looking like a zombie in the off-Halloween Season.

First Thing’s First: Tackle The Reason You Have Eye Circles

Concealer can only do so much when it comes to purple blue bags under the eyes. Instead of trying to cover the problem, it’s best to tackle the problem at its source. For some people, the darkness is due to hyper-pigmentation in the area. Certain ethnicities are even more prone to this, such as Asians. Other individuals simply have certain genetics that make them more prone to puffiness in the eyes and face. This adds to the effect of apparent tiredness.

Retinol Is The Remedy

Retinol is a key ingredient for helping you to reduce wrinkles and reduce the appearance of aging in the sensitive skin around the eye region. This ingredient also helps to normalize the dark pigment cells in the eyes that create the purple blueish tone. Any retinol eye serum will help smooth the area and keep the skin your beautiful skin tone.

Caffeine- It’s Not Just For Coffee!

Certain creams and serums with caffeine can actually give your skin a boost, making your face appear more energized and awake. The caffeine also helps to make the skin around the eye look plump, so any shadows are significantly diminished.

Vamp Up The Vitamins

Vitamins aren’t just essential in your diet. They are also great for making your skin look smooth and rich, especially in the thin, sensitive skin patches around the eyes. Serums with Vitamin C are particularly useful in combating free-radical damage and hyper-pigmentation due to stress. Finally, one less thing to stress about!
