Why You Need To Own A Pair Of Spandex Shorts ASAP

2 septiembre, 2019 by Admin

Many athletes use spandex shorts for working out, but turns out this clothing item is a godsend for any woman’s wardrobe. If you don’t already own your own arsenal of the item, these incredible reasons will surely convince you to purchase a pair (or few).

Spandex Shorts Are Incredibly Comfy

No one likes to have a dreaded wedgie in the middle of the day, which can be caused by various styles of underwear. Spandex shorts on the other hand hug your curves seamlessly, making them extremely comfortable to wear all day. The material is also very breathable, which is why so many people use them to stay cool during a sweaty workout!

They Are Perfect Under Dresses

Just the thought of having to constantly monitor your dress and skirt when walking or sitting down can be enough to steer you away from them. While a Marilyn Monroe situation might seem lusty, we assure you in real life it is much more embarrassing. However, if you put on a pair of spandex shorts underneath, you can move and sit freely without the fear of being «exposed.» Never have you felt so much freedom!

Whether you wear them as shorts, under a dress, or to work out, spandex shorts are one of the most versatile items you can own. They also come in a variety of colors, so you can decide to wear black (to be less seen under a skirt or dress), or wear them loud and proud as a fashion statement.

They Help Reduce Leg Chafing

One of the worst things about not wearing long pants during the warmer summer months is the dreaded leg chafe. The skin on skin rub between your inner thighs can leave some painful irritation. Spandex shorts are your easy fix! By buying a pair that is slightly longer, you can prevent any leg chafing and still wear your favorite breezy summer clothing. You’ll feel more confident in being able to strut your stuff, pain and care free!

Reasons You Have More Acne This Summer

14 agosto, 2019 by Admin

Does it feel like your face has suffered an onslaught of acne this summer? You’re not the only one. Despite providing us ample sunny days to boost our tans, the summer months are also infamous for causing more acne. But why? The following causes might be why you are breaking out (even more) this summer.

Blame The Heat Wave

Around the world, numerous countries have been experiencing record-high temperatures due to a heat wave. Even the «Washington Post» called it «the hottest month that humans have ever recorded.» As you can probably imagine, this isn’t good for our health, ranging from global environmental effects to even our personal skin issues.

As logic would have it, hotter temperatures lead to more sweating. The majority of us don’t have the time or means to stay refreshed throughout the day. This means all that sweat mixes with pollution in the air and just sits on our faces, causing our pores to be blocked.

That’s not all. From all the sweating, we are more likely to touch our faces and try to wipe off the sweat, be it with our hands, shirts, or towels. This constant touching and rubbing only worsens the situation, irritating the skin and causing it to flare up in even more breakouts.

Your A.C. Is On Full Blast

When suffering a heat wave, naturally the only thing one really wants to do is to sit inside in the cool air conditioning. However, A.C. typically removes moisture in the air, which can be very drying for your skin. As a result, your skin will try to produce more oil to compensate for the dry air. This in turn creates extra oil build up within our pores. Now combine that with the nasty heat and humidity and you’ve got a formula for guaranteed breakouts.

You Tried To Use Too Many Acne Solutions All At Once

Waking up to new white and blackheads can be panic-inducing. However, the solution is not to go heavy with the topical treatments filled with different acid formulas. If your skin regime isn’t used to using different medications, it can cause your skin to have an adverse reaction. The balance of the oils will be out of whack, and for some people can cause all your future zits to pop up at once. Talk about a TOTAL NIGHTMARE.

How To Fix Your Acne This Summer

Most importantly, avoid touching your face at all costs! Rather than washing and scrubbing multiple times a day, it is best to wash your face twice a day with a soft foaming cleanser. When it comes to air conditioning, rather than endure the unbearable heat with zero electricity, try adding a humidifier to rooms to make sure the air keeps some moisture. And if that red monster on your face needs something to control it, you can use a salicylic topical treatment, but sparingly. Once a day is plenty!

Useful tips to get you through summer

31 julio, 2019 by Admin

Verano

Summer is finally here. Great weather, a perfectly bronzed skin, long days on the beach… Things couldn’t be better. However, not everything is as good as it seems.

This time of the year comes hand in hand with certain difficulties like mosquito bite or thigh rashes. We bring you some tips and tricks to get rid of the annoying issues that may arise as we enjoy the sunny weather.

A nice and cool fort

Feeling overwhelmed by the summer heat happens to the best of us. Sometimes is gets so bad that the only thing we want is spend the day in the pool or in the sea. As we realize this is not always possible, we bring you a super fun trick to have a little nice and cool «me-space».

Fan summer heat

Place a fan in front of your bed and take some empty sheets. Grab them by the opening (where you would normally put the duvet in) and turn the fan on to let the air fill the sheets. You’ll see how you’ve created your own little fort between your sheets. Now you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite book in this little space made just for you…¡and feel super cool!

Mosquito bites

Although one of the best parts about summer are the dreamy long summer nights, one of the worst parts is the annoying mosquito bites that fill our skins. Some may be more affected and some less, but none of us are safe from the ocasional mosquito bite.

Mosquito bites

If you’re someone who can’t handle these annoying bites, you’re going to love this tip. It eases the itch amazingly, and gets rid of the bumps you are usually left with the next day. Simply rub half a lemon on top of the bite and it’ll be a matter of minutes before the itch goes away. You have the citric acid to thank you. It’s the best!

Irritated skin

During the summer we tend to shave more often, which is why our skin is more prone to getting irritated. Either because of how we shave, or because it’s time to throw your razor away, irritated skin can be very annoying.

Tea bags

A great tip to relieve irritation is using a green tea teabag. Make some tea and once it’s done, put the teabag in the freezer. When the bag is frozen, rub it on the affected area. You’ll see how in ten minutes the irritation has fully disappeared.

Thigh rash

Summer heat and shorts are the perfect recipe for disaster when it comes to our thighs. It often happens that they start rubbing together causing an awful, hurtful rash.

To be able to enjoy the summer without having to think about the irritation between your legs, a good idea is applying some baby powder to the area. This way, you’ll prevent your thighs from rubbing together as much and you’ll be able to ease the pain.

Baby powder

A runny eyeliner

It often happens, especially during the hottest days, that we apply some eyeliner and it doesn’t even stay put for half an hour. You look in the mirror and you already look like a raccoon.

A great tip to have your eyeliner stay in place after you’ve applied it is using a thin brush to apply some black eye-shadow on top. That way you’ll be able to make it stay in place, and you won’t have to worry about black stains.

How To Protect And Care For Your Tattoo This Summer

28 julio, 2019 by Admin

Regardless of the season, it is important to care for your skin both for cosmetic and health reasons. That said, during the sunny and sweltering months of summer, it’s extra necessary to take proper precautions to prevent any damage caused by the sun. This rings especially true for tattoos, both new and old. Without the proper care, your tattoo can fade, change color, or even cause unwanted scarring.

In order to make sure your beloved ink stays looking good as new, we have the following tips for protecting your tattoo this summer. After spending all that money to get inked in the first place, you might as well take the measures to get your money’s worth!

Enhance Recovery With Tattoo Balms

Typically a tattoo takes 2-3 weeks to fully heal. During that time, it is crucial to keep the tattoo moisturized and given the proper conditioning with balms that contain allantoin. This ingredient helps the area to heal faster, and other natural moisturizing ingredients like coconut oil help to prevent dryness.

Slather On Mineral SPF

The biggest culprit for tattoo discoloration and fading is the sun, particularly if it’s a fresh tattoo. Any bright colors used for an ink that is still healing are very susceptible to changing colors. Even black ink can start to turn an ugly greenish hue. The best way to prevent this change is by wearing a mineral based sunscreen every day. It may seem like a hassle, but the results are worth it!

Cover Large Tattoos With Sun Guard

You might think wearing clothing to prevent any tattoo exposure is sufficient, but in reality our clothing doesn’t act as a perfect barrier from the sun. To make sure your tattoo is fully protected, try washing your clothing with Sun Guard, which adds SPF protection to your clothing through the wash.

Avoid UV Light

The sun’s rays aren’t the only source for causing skin damage. UV light, often at nail salons or tanning beds, directly puts your tattoo in harms way in causing color change and fading. Not only that, but direct exposure to UV light also increases your risk of skin cancer.

The Essential Wedding Dress Code To Abide By

12 julio, 2019 by Admin

Summer into early fall means prime wedding season! If you have been invited to several in the span of a few months, it can be overwhelming as to what to wear to each event. Heaven forbid you do an outfit repeat and get caught in the photo tags on Facebook and Instagram! We have the essential wedding dress code to abide by so that you can be relieved of some stress this season (as for the gift, that’s on you!)

1. Never, EVER Wear White

This is rule number one for a reason! No matter how good you look in white, the bride should always be the one to stand out on the big day. (We see you, Kelly). You don’t want to accidentally be mistaken for the bride because you happened to wear a white dress as well! Avoid any faux pas by wearing just about any other color for the wedding ceremony.

2. Don’t Wear Anything Too Flashy

Again, this goes along with the previous rule in terms of not upstaging the bride. Wearing long prom-style gowns, dresses with lots of beading, or accessories and prints that scream for attention are generally considered inconsiderate. While you have every right to look your best self, remember the attention should be on the bride!

3. Skip The Skimpy

Weddings can range from black tie events to super casual. It’s important to know before hand how casual you are permitted to dress, however in probably 99,9% of the cases, wearing clothing that is very revealing is considered underdressed. Even if the wedding takes place on the beach and you are all but counting down the seconds until you can jump in the water, there are plenty of tasteful summer dresses that are light, pretty, and appropriate.

4. Bypass The Black

Black also is deserving of a place on the «off-limits colors» list. Typically, black is associated with mourning and is a color most worn at funerals. Not quite the vibe people are going for when making wedding vows of «‘til death do us part!» In the summer in particular, it’s best to go for a little bit of color like pastels, which can really make your sun-kissed skin pop.

5. Last But Not Least… Smile!

This should go without saying, but remember to wear a smile on your friend or family member’s big day! Although the planning involved for a wedding can be extremely stressful, the bride and groom will feel that much happier on their big day knowing that their guests also enjoyed being a part of the celebration.

Fruit to lose weight during the summer

10 julio, 2019 by Admin

During the summer we usually tend to eat lighter meals like fruit, rather than heavier ones that take a long time to digest, increasing our body temperature. As if we weren’t already hot enough. However, we are also aware that we tend to ingest foods with a higher amount of calories, like cocktails or packed snacks.

Summer fruit

The summer heat is what usually leads us to not wanting to cook. We’d also rather spend that time on other types of activities instead of dying of a heat stroke in the kitchen. However, we must not forget that eating light and easy is always an option: grabbing a banana does not take any prepping at all, and you’ll most probably have one at home.

That’s why we’ve decided to bring you the four best fruits to lose weight super easily. You’ll enjoy their deliciousness while slimming down a couple of sizes! What else can you ask for?

Watermelon

Summer fruit

Watermelon is one of the best fruits to have if you wish to lose weight (and if not, too). It has a very low caloric content, which is great news for us as we can eat as much as we want of this delicious red fruit without having to gain a couple of pounds.

Plus, watermelon is amazingly fresh, which is nice for the heat-filled days. You can also eat it at any time of the day: for breakfast, as a snack… And in any format you like: as a smoothie or a juice, or simply just as a regular piece of fruit.

One thing we’re also quite passionate about is its sky-high water content. It’s made up of a whole 90 percent of water. This also means it has detoxing properties. Bon appetit!

Pineapple

Summer fruit

Pineapple is super purifying as it removes toxins from your body: it’s detoxing from the inside. Plus, its high fiber content helps your digestive system work properly and gives you an extra boost if your stomach is feeling funny.

This summery fruit has more calories than watermelon, however, it’s quite a bit more satiating because of its slow absorption. It also contains lots of protein and vitamins. What else can you ask for?

Melon

Summer fruit

Melon is one of the best fruits for those of us who have a bit of a sweet tooth. However, what’s really great about this fruit is that it satiates our cravings, as it’s one of the sweetest fruits, but it doesn’t have more calories than others. In fact, quite the opposite: it has a very low caloric content which is good to lose weight without having to give up our sweet-moment.

Plus, melon helps us feel less bloated because of the amount of water it contains: this helps against liquid retention. This fruit also has properties that positively activate our digestive systems: it’s satiating as well as lightly laxative.

Apple

frutas veraniegas

Turns out this oh-so-typical fruit is a-ma-zing for getting rid of those extra kilos we so badly hate. It contains a lot of water and pectins, two elements essential for purifying your body and getting rid of «bad» cholesterol.

Apples contain a lot of fiber and are extremely diuretic. They also provide your body with all sorts of amino acids, plus, one concrete acid called ursolic acid which is great for preventing the extra kilos.

It’s the most common fruit but it doesn’t mean it’s the least good: apples are amazing for your digestive system and they delay fat absorption. Such an easy way to lose weight!
