Reasons You Have More Acne This Summer

14 agosto, 2019 by Admin

Does it feel like your face has suffered an onslaught of acne this summer? You’re not the only one. Despite providing us ample sunny days to boost our tans, the summer months are also infamous for causing more acne. But why? The following causes might be why you are breaking out (even more) this summer.

Blame The Heat Wave

Around the world, numerous countries have been experiencing record-high temperatures due to a heat wave. Even the «Washington Post» called it «the hottest month that humans have ever recorded.» As you can probably imagine, this isn’t good for our health, ranging from global environmental effects to even our personal skin issues.

As logic would have it, hotter temperatures lead to more sweating. The majority of us don’t have the time or means to stay refreshed throughout the day. This means all that sweat mixes with pollution in the air and just sits on our faces, causing our pores to be blocked.

That’s not all. From all the sweating, we are more likely to touch our faces and try to wipe off the sweat, be it with our hands, shirts, or towels. This constant touching and rubbing only worsens the situation, irritating the skin and causing it to flare up in even more breakouts.

Your A.C. Is On Full Blast

When suffering a heat wave, naturally the only thing one really wants to do is to sit inside in the cool air conditioning. However, A.C. typically removes moisture in the air, which can be very drying for your skin. As a result, your skin will try to produce more oil to compensate for the dry air. This in turn creates extra oil build up within our pores. Now combine that with the nasty heat and humidity and you’ve got a formula for guaranteed breakouts.

You Tried To Use Too Many Acne Solutions All At Once

Waking up to new white and blackheads can be panic-inducing. However, the solution is not to go heavy with the topical treatments filled with different acid formulas. If your skin regime isn’t used to using different medications, it can cause your skin to have an adverse reaction. The balance of the oils will be out of whack, and for some people can cause all your future zits to pop up at once. Talk about a TOTAL NIGHTMARE.

How To Fix Your Acne This Summer

Most importantly, avoid touching your face at all costs! Rather than washing and scrubbing multiple times a day, it is best to wash your face twice a day with a soft foaming cleanser. When it comes to air conditioning, rather than endure the unbearable heat with zero electricity, try adding a humidifier to rooms to make sure the air keeps some moisture. And if that red monster on your face needs something to control it, you can use a salicylic topical treatment, but sparingly. Once a day is plenty!

Useful tips to get you through summer

31 julio, 2019 by Admin

Verano

Summer is finally here. Great weather, a perfectly bronzed skin, long days on the beach… Things couldn’t be better. However, not everything is as good as it seems.

This time of the year comes hand in hand with certain difficulties like mosquito bite or thigh rashes. We bring you some tips and tricks to get rid of the annoying issues that may arise as we enjoy the sunny weather.

A nice and cool fort

Feeling overwhelmed by the summer heat happens to the best of us. Sometimes is gets so bad that the only thing we want is spend the day in the pool or in the sea. As we realize this is not always possible, we bring you a super fun trick to have a little nice and cool «me-space».

Fan summer heat

Place a fan in front of your bed and take some empty sheets. Grab them by the opening (where you would normally put the duvet in) and turn the fan on to let the air fill the sheets. You’ll see how you’ve created your own little fort between your sheets. Now you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite book in this little space made just for you…¡and feel super cool!

Mosquito bites

Although one of the best parts about summer are the dreamy long summer nights, one of the worst parts is the annoying mosquito bites that fill our skins. Some may be more affected and some less, but none of us are safe from the ocasional mosquito bite.

Mosquito bites

If you’re someone who can’t handle these annoying bites, you’re going to love this tip. It eases the itch amazingly, and gets rid of the bumps you are usually left with the next day. Simply rub half a lemon on top of the bite and it’ll be a matter of minutes before the itch goes away. You have the citric acid to thank you. It’s the best!

Irritated skin

During the summer we tend to shave more often, which is why our skin is more prone to getting irritated. Either because of how we shave, or because it’s time to throw your razor away, irritated skin can be very annoying.

Tea bags

A great tip to relieve irritation is using a green tea teabag. Make some tea and once it’s done, put the teabag in the freezer. When the bag is frozen, rub it on the affected area. You’ll see how in ten minutes the irritation has fully disappeared.

Thigh rash

Summer heat and shorts are the perfect recipe for disaster when it comes to our thighs. It often happens that they start rubbing together causing an awful, hurtful rash.

To be able to enjoy the summer without having to think about the irritation between your legs, a good idea is applying some baby powder to the area. This way, you’ll prevent your thighs from rubbing together as much and you’ll be able to ease the pain.

Baby powder

A runny eyeliner

It often happens, especially during the hottest days, that we apply some eyeliner and it doesn’t even stay put for half an hour. You look in the mirror and you already look like a raccoon.

A great tip to have your eyeliner stay in place after you’ve applied it is using a thin brush to apply some black eye-shadow on top. That way you’ll be able to make it stay in place, and you won’t have to worry about black stains.

Cold infusions to stay hydrated this summer

3 julio, 2019 by Admin

Infusion

With this heat and the strong summer sun it becomes very easy to feel dehydrated, which is why it’s important to constantly drink water. However, sometimes water can become very boring if it’s the only drink we have, and soda-like drinks aren’t exactly helping our diets either. So a great option to break out of this water routine is combining it with cold infusions. They are absolutely delicious and super healthy for us!

Cold infusions can be amazingly refreshing and they are full of great properties for our health. It’s the best option to handle days of intense heat! You’ll see how you won’t want to drink anything else anymore. Take care of yourself, and enjoy doing it.

Green tea with blueberries

Blueberries

This infusion, besides being super healthy due to the amount of antioxidants it contains, is also amazingly delicious. It is very refreshing and is full of flavour. You only have to boil a couple of green tea bags together with some blueberries.

Once you’ve done so, and the given time has passed, let it cool down. You can choose to either put it in the fridge or throw in some ice cubes. Either way is fine. And that’s it! You’re ready to enjoy your own cold infusion.

Ginger and chamomile tea

Ginger

Take a chamomile teabag and a ginger root and put them to boil. Then, let it cool down in the fridge. Next, choose the citrus fruit you prefer and make a nice juice out of it. Lastly, mix all of it and add ice, ¡and you’re done! This one is great because both the chamomile and the ginger have incredibly positive properties, plus, you’ll love the flavour of it.

Mint and blackberry

Blackberry mint

This cold infusion is super easy to make as you won’t even have to boil the ingredients. Simply introduce a handful of blackberries and some mint leafs into a jar and pour some water in it. Let is sit for various hours, and there you have it. You can add some ice cubes if you wish it to be colder.

This option is great as the mint gives off a very refreshing feeling, while the blackberries are sweet, meaning you won’t need to add any extra sugar. This way, we take care of both our diet and our taste buds.

Green tea, mint and cherries

Cherries

This infusion is super tasty: you’ll love the freshness of the mint combined with the tastiness of the cherries. Plus, green tea has many great properties and help us with our «detox» plan.

Start by cutting the cherries in half, but remember not to get rid of the pits. Put them in a jar and add the rest of the ingredients on top: mint leafs, tea bags and water. Let the mix sit in your fridge for 12 hours. Once the time’s up, strain the mix and serve in glasses with ice cubs. Now you have the ideal infusion to stay hydrated this summer!
