Washing Your Hair Daily Is Actually Bad For You

We can do anything to have a shiny hair. Hair masks, the most expensive shampoos and conditioners, and even top finishing products. However, having a healthy, shiny hair may be requiring a little less effort.

Studies have shown that washing your hair frequently is not good. In fact, they recommend you to wash it once or twice a week. You can find out the why and how in this post.

Why does washing your hair daily damages it?

According to Carolyn Goh, MD, assistant clinical professor of medicine at UCLA, hair produces natural oil called sebum. It works as a moisturizer and a protection agent for the hair and skin. Excessive washing results in trapping this oil and causing product residue.

Nevertheless, some cases do require more »shampoo time». The same researcher agree that if you have very fine hair, or you sweat daily (obviously if you exercise) then you may need to wash your hair more frequently. Humidity also plays a role in making your hair look dirty quickly, and if you have an oily scalp, then you have to use more shampoo than regular hair types.

How can we replace using too much shampoo?

Even though dry shampoo is the easiest alternative, it’s not exactly the healthiest option. Immoderate use of it can lead to clogged pores, dandruff, and irritated skin. Happy Hair is a book published on amazon, and that offers simple replacement to shampoo, in order to have a healthier hair.

Eggs: Whisking a whole egg in a cup then pouring it on your hair is a magical treatment. The water should be cool (not hot nor cold) for you to get a clean, soft and shiny hair.

Clay: Known to be a natural remedy for both hair and skin. Applying clay with some boiling water on your hair, then rinsing it off has amazing results. Not only does it clean like shampoo, but it acts as a conditioner as well. Two in one!

Lemon: This fruit could come in handy and not only in the kitchen. Lemon is an anti-bacterial agent, so it can help you get rid of dandruff. Squeeze a whole lemon into a cup, then pour it on your hair before showering. Leave it for about 10 minutes, then rinse it off with templed water. Lemon can also help lighten the color of your hair for a blonder look.

¿Eres de las que les encanta picar entre horas?¿tienes hambre constantemente?¿eso de comer solo un par de veces al día no es lo tuyo? No estás sola. Somos muchas las que a menudo sentimos que nos pasamos el día intentando saciar los ataques de hambre voraz. Si estás harta de sentirte así, echa un vistazo a este artículo. Te damos varias causas de este agujero en tu estómago.

Concéntrate en lo que comes

Estamos acostumbradas a las constantes distracciones mientras comemos. Ver la tele, utilizar el móvil… lo que sea menos centrarnos en nuestro plato de comida. Es lo peor que podríamos estar haciendo. Comienza a practicar el «mindful eating».

Concéntrate en comer

Presta más atención a lo que comes. Si comemos distraídas y con prisas no nos daremos cuenta de cuándo nuestro cuerpo nos dice que ya hemos tenido suficiente. Si pensamos en lo que comemos y en cómo lo comemos, seremos capaces de comer menos y más sano. Una alimentación más sana y consciente nos saciará más tiempo, y nos hará sentir mejor.

No bebes suficiente agua

A menudo confundimos la sed con el hambre. Parece mentira, pero ocurre la mayoría de veces que nos entra un fuerte antojo. La próxima vez que sientas ganas de saquear la nevera, bébete un par de vasos de agua. Verás que en unos minutos se te ha pasado el atracón.

Te faltan horas de sueño

Dormir suficiente es esencial para muchos aspectos básicos de nuestra salud. Tiene un millón de ventajas. También tiene mucho que ver con el hambre que sentimos. Cuando no dormimos lo suficiente aumentamos nuestra hormona del hambre, por lo que al día siguiente sentirás más hambre durante todo el día. Verás que si duermes más y bien tendrás menos ganas de comer.

Relájate

Un poco de estrés de vez en cuando no viene mal. Nos activa y nos mantiene ágiles. Sin embargo, el problema viene cuando sufrimos demasiado estrés. Esto puede ser increíblemente dañino para nuestra salud.

Además, el estrés causa un aumento de ansiedad, que a menudo hace que comamos más. También provocará en ti desequilibrios hormonales y aumento de peso. Intenta relajarte al máximo y no estresarte tanto. Tu apetito te lo agradecerá.

The ‘‘Happiness Tour’‘ is the name the J-Bros chose to give to their comeback. A long awaited return, of a brothers-band that has made our teenage years. Kevin, Joe and nick started their World-Tour in Miami on August 7th, 2019 and will conclude in Paris on February 22, 2020.

Here are some interesting facts to celebrate their return, and also to get back in touch with our teenager selves!

Their First World Tour was 10 Years Ago

The Jonas Brothers’ first World Tour was in 2009 and started in Peru. They were already huge, after the series and films in which they appeared. Although they were still young, their talent allowed them to be known throughout the world. It’s just so hard to believe that it has been this long!

The Separation

By 2013, and as they were getting older, the problems and creative differences between the brothers began. Kevin was getting married, Joe was going through break-ups, but it was Nick who proposed the separation of the group. He later on admitted that he was so afraid it would ruin their relationship. Eventually, each member of the band ended up doing their own thing. Kevin and his wife did a reality show, Joe started his own band, and Nick traveled the world while making his solo songs.

The Jonas Brothers are back to perform together, create songs together and share the joy of their fans. Although their return is most-likely the most anticipated this year, they are no longer the band we knew when we were younger. Kevin is father, Nick is married to Priyanka Chopra, and Joe literally just got married to Sophie Turner, the Game of Thrones star.

Going Overboard with Skincare Products

Using multiple products to treat any skin problems might SEEM like the smart solution, but it can actually cause more irritation and inflammation. Whenever we see a new product on the market, it can be tempting to believe the benefits. However, the smartest way to cure any skin issue (acne, redness, dryness) is by using only two or three products max. This will both a) save you money on skincare products and b) calm your skin down.

Popping Your Pimples

This should be a given by now, but squeezing your own zits is never a good idea. While almost all of us are guilty of attempting to attack that new planet that popped on our faces overnight, in the long run this only leads to more acne. All the squeezing can actually press the pimples deeper into your pores, which can cause a skin infection. What’s more, the oils on your fingers can spread and cause infection and zits on other spots on the face. If you do get the urge to squeeze, you should try putting a spot treatment on the area with a cotton swab to directly improve the skin.

Skipping The Sunscreen

Regardless of the time of year, it is important to protect your skin from the sun’s rays. If you are worried about causing your skin to be greasy, fear not for there are many SPFs designed oil-free. Everyone should be using SPF because without it, the collagen in skin breaks down which brings on wrinkles and discoloration.

Excessive Washing And Exfoliating

You might think washing more means cleaner skin, but the reality is that over cleansing and exfoliating can dry out the skin. The result can vary depending on your skin type, but you can expect to have redness and inflammation. There is also the chance of getting worse acne, because your oil glands start to work in overdrive. When it comes to skincare, less is more!
