4 Tips to Correctly Remove Your Makeup

29 noviembre, 2019 by Admin

We all know the importance of correctly removing makeup at the end of everyday. However, it is not enough to just wipe it off your face. Furthermore, you need to make sure to truly clean and moisturize your face before going to bed. Makeup residues can cause serious damage to your skin, therefore, we’ve gathered for you these 4 tips to help you correctly remove your makeup.

Take Your Time

Let’s be real, we all have rushed into removing our makeup before. Coming back home late, or after a party makes you spend less time in front of the mirror. However, frequently doing so can cost you a lot. In fact, Dermatologist Ranella Hirsch insists on applying makeup remover, letting it set for few minutes than brush it off. Long story short, if it takes you 5 minutes to remove your make up, you are not doing it correctly.

Cotton Pads Are Better Than Cotton Balls

Flat cotton pads are definitely better, and easier to use than cotton balls. Why? Well, mainly because cotton balls break easily and might »leave fibers on your lashes or skin,» says dermatologist Rebecca Kazin. On the other hand, using few flat cotton pads will ensure you don’t leave any makeup residue behind. Also, make sure not to rub too hard on your skin, and even less when it comes to correctly removing makeup from the eye area.

Use Soap And Water

Unpopular advice: Soap and water actually clean better than makeup wipes. Actually, they do a great job as an initial part in your makeup removal routine, but should always be followed by deep cleansing. Make sure to always follow up through washing your face with soap and water, in order to properly clean the pores and avoid skin irritation.

Moisturizing Is Important

There are plenty of factors in our daily lives that make us dehydrated. Therefore, just as you need to drink water to revive your body, you must hydrate your skin as well. As a finish to removing your makeup and cleaning your face, add a moisturizer. Lip balm for the lips, castor oil for the eye lashes, and the right moisturizing cream for your face area.

Don’t Throw Away Your Broken Make Up, Fix It

1 noviembre, 2019 by Admin

Make up can be quite expensive. So if your products somehow break, don’t throw them away. Especially if it’s a brand new palette, or a lipstick color you’ve been looking for a long time. Today in Cachet we show you easy methods to fix your broken make up back to its original condition. Well, it will not be as new, but you will be able to re-use it perfectly. Follow these steps to fix your broken make up.

Eye Shadow Palette

If you happen to drop your new eye shadow palette, then you know that mini-heart attack feeling. But don’t worry, because youcan fix it. In fact, what happens is that if one eye shadow cracks, it stains the rest of the palette tones. Therefore, you can try this simple hack to fix it.

First, start by getting rid of any loose debris, either by lightly touching it or with the help of a brush. Once you have done this you must press the shadow so that you avoid the appearance of other cracks.

Highlighter/Bronzer Powder

This is the most common accident we all suffer from. When you drop a powder make up product, chances are it has split to a million pieces. Instead of feeling sad and going to buy another one (Because powder products are so important) you can try to fix it this way.

You should re-collect the broken parts, and return as much product as you can to the compact. Then, using a spoon, you can «crush» the product, then add somerubbing alcohol. Make sure to smooth out the paste using the spoon, then let it dry for at least 24 hours.

Your Favorite Lipstick

Imagine that you bought a new MAC lipstick shade for 20$, then few days later it breaks. You are not going to spend that extra-cash for a new one, while you can easily fix the broken one at home.

Start with melting the ends of the lipstick broken in half with a lighter. Then, use a cotton swab to smooth the ends. Stick the two parts together, using the lighter and smoothing with the cotton swab. Make sure that both parts are solidly stuck together. Finally, put it in the refrigerator for about 3-4 hours. Voilà!

Make Up Hacks If You Wear Glasses

29 octubre, 2019 by Admin

Having to wear glasses can get annoying sometimes. No matter how hard you try with make up, it seems like you have nothing on. If you don’t like eye-contacts, we have the solution for you. Try these Make up hacks to look your best with your glasses on!

Always Apply Concealer Under Your Eyes

Despite the common belief that glasses hide dark circles, it is not true. They might not be as visible, but your under-eyes are still noticeable. Stick to applying concealer under your eyes, then add a dust of setting powder. This hack will give you »big eyes» look and highlight your face at once.

Avoid Heavy Eye Shadow

Nevertheless, and unless you are going to a party, avoid dark shadows. Mainly, because your glasses already draw enough attention to your face. However, you can still apply some neutral tones of eye shadow, such as rose or gold colors. One of the hacks of laying low on eyeshadow, is that you can mix it with a perfect cat-eye finish.

Make Sure To Shape Your Brows

There is no discussion about the importance of well-shaped brows. Did you know that it’s actually one of the first things people notice about you? Always clean and shape them, because they frame the face and make the make up look complete. Try brushing them off before starting, and apply some coconut oil on them before going to bed.

Use Moisturizing Mascara

The biggest struggle for women with glasses is the Mascara. In addition to smearing on your glasses, if it’s not well done, it looks like you forgot about your lashes. However, try these make up hacks to get strong eye lashes.

First, make sure that you use creamy waterproof mascara. The moisturizing effect will protect your natural lashes, but also prevent the mascara from sticking on the glass. Also, opt for putting more mascara on the roots of the lashes instead of the tips.

Draw The Focus To Your Lips

Finally, good defined lips and glasses give the sexiest look! Go for the bald lip using dark red or hot pink lipsticks. Full lips will draw the attention to them instead of your eyes. In addition, framing your lips with matte colors will give your face a fierce look. Glasses are officially no longer a problem for make-up lovers.

20 septiembre, 2019 by Admin

Newsflash: concealers are not just for your acne and under-eye bags! This simple saving makeup product has many great tricks for making you look your best and brightest. It all just depends on how you actually apply the product. Here are a few tricks to make the most out of your concealer!

Are you applying your concealer directly under your eyes? If so, you are actually committing one of the worst mistakes! This way of application can actually accentuate the bags under your eyes. To fix this issue, try applying your concealer in the shape of an upside down triangle. This will help to brighten up not just your under-eye bags, but your entire face!

Prime Your Eyelids With Concealer

No need to spend extra moolah on eyeshadow primer. You can apply concealer directly to your eyelids to create the same smoothing effect. This will help to prevent creases when putting on eyeshadow and additionally make the colors pop.

Make Corrections With Different Colored Concealers

swatches of different colors of concealer.

One concealer color doesn’t solve all your problems (sadly). To get the absolute best results, you should use different colors based on the problems you want to, well.. conceal. If it’s acne you want to hide, go for green to neutralize the redness and then top with your foundation. If you have dark, blue-ish under-eye bags, you should aim for a concealer with peachy orange tones. Additionally, if your face has more yellow tones you want to correct, you can use lavender colored concealers underneath foundation. Who knew there was a rainbow of colors to choose from for your concealer?

Blot With Tissue To Combat Creasing

To ensure your concealer doesn’t crease (especially around the eyes), it is best to blot with a tissue after application. This way you won’t look like a cakey mess by midday. Only a flawless face for you!

It’s Time To Amp Up Pink In Your Style (Again)

26 agosto, 2019 by Admin

Pink has been a popular color for… centuries. Yet it seems to be having another recent comeback. Just take one look at the runways or even your local makeup store. Pink is everywhere again, but it’s not the hue that is calling our attention. It’s how it is being worn with all new twists.

No more do we just stick to a soft pink lip color! Now there are long-lasting lip stains, eye shadow hues, blushes, and accessories to complete your look for any occasion.

Why Do We Love Pink?

This color is great to add back into your style routine for several reasons. The primary is that it is truly a universal color. While certain reds and oranges can have a harsh effect on different skin tones, pinks have enough color that is not too shocking to compliment any skin tone or hair combination.

Not only can it blend well, but pink can be statement making too. Just look to Megan Rapinoe, the forward from the US Women’s National Soccer Team who made headlines this past World Cup for her athletic prowess, political stances, and yes, her hair! Her look became so iconic, that it actually inspired stylists Riawna Capri and Joey Perrotti to name a new hue after her: Rapinkoe.

Awesome Products

While many of us can’t afford to splurge on the same products used and worn on the runway, thankfully many bargain brands have also joined in on the pink movement. You can get perfectly pink pouts with ink crayon lipsticks or achieve a nice iridescent glow with these tinted highlighters. Whatever your style choice, you’re sure to make Elle Woods proud!
